What is the most challenging part of Covid-19?

The most challenging part of Covid-19 has been seeing the fear in people’s eyes at the grocery store, The vulnerability we all share without admitting it to one another. It’s been hard to watch how the people in this country accept the change and make it all about them. We all have become very selfish without even knowing it. Watching the division line form has been the most difficult thing to watch. The true colors of human nature aren’t always so beautiful to watch.

What has given you strength/ are there any unexpected positives from this time?

People are forced in our culture to believe that busy, and productive means happiness. In this time of isolation people were  told to stay home all over the world. The choices of what we did with this time are personal. What I appreciated the most was the time I took to look inward, and hearing other people’s stories of what they started to recognize about themselves. Life moves fast, and we all try to influence our surroundings in someway. To see the rise of groups of people come together in solidarity against the very systems that have lead us to believe that “busy” is happiness has been a breath of fresh air and hope into the very fabric of all that I am. 2020 isn’t cancelled, it’s the greatest comeback of a generation. To see this hope, and love before my eyes has been not only positive, but it’s something that I can’t begin to express into words.

Who do you wear a mask for?

I wear a mask for the people who are the most vulnerable. I wear a mask so a grandchild will still be able to have a chance to hold their grandparent.
