What has been the most challenging part of Covid-19?
While Covid has been difficult in a lot of ways, the most challenging thing has been the uncertainty around my business. Being forced to close my two stores has been tough, but what makes it harder is not knowing when we will be able to finally reopen, what sales will be like when we finally do reopen, and how long this will ultimately last.
What has given you strength/ are there any unexpected positives from this time?
Of course! There are silver linings in everything :). Personally, as a business owner I lead a really fast paced life - there's always something do or somewhere to be. While I'm still just as busy, Covid has forced me to slow down. I'm cooking more and sleeping in more often. I feel less rushed. I think I'll miss that when this is over.
Also, out of necessity we've moved our business completely online. We're selling through instagram and will have a live e-commerce website up soon. I've been meaning to do that for a while, but never had the time. When this is all over and fully behind us, I think the online sales will end up being an additional revenue stream we didn't have before. I'm very excited about that.
Who do you wear a mask for?
I wear a mask for my city. We will get through this together.
